TRADA Technology is inviting potential exhibitors to the official launch event for Timber Expo on Wednesday 29 September 2010, at the show venue, Coventry’s Ricoh Arena. The launch initiative, said TRADA Membership & Marketing Manager Rupert Scott, ‘will permit companies to make a clear and informed judgement on their participation in the event’.
Launch event delegates will be able to claim the ‘early-bird’ booking rate and those booking on the day will also receive a free ‘marketing booster pack’ worth £300.00.
NEW Timber Solutions – first Brettstapel build in UK
Gaia Architects chose the innovative Brettstapel building system for a new primary school and community space for Acharacle, a small village some 40 miles west of Fort William. The method uses untreated softwood studs pinned together with hardwood dowels.
The method enables softwood that would otherwise be unsuitable for structural use to be used in buildings of all types. For the school, the panels were constructed in Austria and delivered by road. The large size of the panels contributes to the speed of construction, as fewer sections are required to complete a structure.
